DEBORAH HEILIGMAN is the author of Charles and Emma: The Darwins’ Leap of Faith, a National Book Award finalist, Printz Honor, LA Times Book Prize finalist, and the winner of the first YALSA Excellence in Nonfiction Award. She has published 26 other books, including, Cool Dog, School Dog, From Caterpillar to Butterfly, High Hopes, Honeybees and ten books in the National Geographic Celebrate Holidays Around the World series.
Her picture book biography about a mathematician named Paul Erdos, The Boy Who Loved Math, will be published soon (she hopes) by Roaring Brook. She is currently revising her first YA novel, Intentions, for Knopf, and is researching a new YA nonfiction book for Henry Holt Books for Young Readers. This book will be laden with mystery and is, in fact, still very much a mystery to her.
